Alongside our legal work against specific employers, the Association regularly petitions the relevant government bodies to advance legislative amendments that would secure the rights of aviation industry workers in Israel more broadly — so that legal protection does not depend solely on the willingness of any one representative body to act. Below are two submissions recently filed on behalf of the Association, for your review.
Minister of Justice · MK Yariv Levin
Amendment to the Class Actions Law
05/20/2025 · Our ref. 100-51
A submission to the Minister of Justice requesting an amendment to Section 3(10) of the Second Schedule to the Class Actions Law, 5766–2006, which currently bars workers covered by a collective agreement from filing a class action on their own behalf or on behalf of their group. The submission proposes that this exemption should no longer apply when the representative labor organization is not actually acting to enforce the agreement, and includes proposed amended wording for the law.

Minister of Labor · Mr. Yoav Ben Tzur
Repealing the exemption of aircrew from the Hours of Work and Rest Law
05/22/2025 · Our ref. 100-52
A submission to the Minister of Labor requesting an amendment to Section 30(a)(4) of the Hours of Work and Rest Law, 5711–1951, which broadly exempts all "aircrew members" — including flight attendants — from the law's application. The submission asks that a distinction be drawn between roles requiring a flight license and cabin crew, and that the latter be paid for actual working hours that are not flight hours, subject to adjustments to be set in regulations.
